When You Are Missing Them
Love is Never Truly Lost

issing someone you love is one of the most painful parts of the human experience.
The Love is still there. The memories remain, but the absence can feel overwhelming.
Through evidence, validation, and messages from Spirit, I can help bring you the comfort of
knowing they are still with you - just in a different way. You are Never alone. And love is never lost.
Our Love Doesn't Disappear
Our Loved Ones Are Closer Than You Think
There is a particular kind of ache that comes with missing someone who has died. Our human hearts struggle to understand how life can go on without them. We replay moments, hold onto memories, and wish for just one more hug, one more conversation.

Sometimes it isn’t even the big moments that get you. It’s reaching for the phone because something happened and they’re still the first person you want to tell. It’s hearing a song. Walking past their favorite food in the grocery store. Sitting at the table and knowing exactly what they would have said. You don’t necessarily need an answer in those moments. You just want them. And there is something I want you to remember when that feeling comes. You could never miss someone this deeply if you hadn’t loved them first. Missing them is painful because love existed before the absence did.

Do They Miss Us Too?
This is one of the questions I have been asked countless times during my years as a medium. “Kim, does my loved one
miss me the way I miss them?”

My understanding from the Spirit world is no, but please don’t misunderstand what I mean by that. It isn’t because they stopped loving us. It’s because in order to miss someone the way we understand missing, there has to be a feeling of separation. And what Spirit has continually shown me is that they don’t experience the same separation that we do.

We experience their absence through the physical senses. We can’t see them sitting in their chair. We can’t hear their voice in the room. We can’t reach over and touch their hand. We can’t call them on the phone. So we feel the distance.

From what I have experienced in readings, they don’t experience us as being gone from them. They remain aware of us.
That changes the meaning of the question completely. We ask, “Don’t you miss me?” And what I have repeatedly felt from Spirit is something closer to: “How could I miss you when I’m still with you?”

Do They Know How Much
Time Has Passed?
This is where people sometimes get worried when I explain that Spirit doesn’t experience time the way we do.
They’ll think, “Wait. You mean my mom doesn’t know it’s my birthday? Does my husband know our daughter got married? Does my father know his grandson is three years old now?” Yes.

From what loved ones have repeatedly shown me during readings, they are very much aware of the milestones that matter to us. They don’t need a calendar hanging on a wall to know it’s your birthday. You are their calendar. Think about it.
Before an important day arrives, you’re thinking about it. You’re planning it. You’re talking about it. “My grandson turns three next week.” “Mom would have loved this wedding.” “This would have been our anniversary.” “I can’t believe Dad has been gone five years.”

Those moments carry tremendous meaning for us. And from what I’ve experienced, our loved ones remain aware of what carries meaning in our lives.

So when I say there is no time as we understand it in Spirit, I don’t mean they have somehow lost track of us. Quite the opposite. My understanding is that consciousness in Spirit is not bound by physical time and space the way we are here. But that does not mean they are somewhere disconnected, unaware of the day, or missing the important moments in our lives. From what I have been shown, they know about everything happening through us. They are aware of what we are celebrating, remembering, anticipating and talking about.

I think another reason missing someone hurts so much is because we imagine distance.
We picture them somewhere else. Far away. And us here. But Spirit has never felt like some faraway destination to me.
I have heard it said that the Spirit world is only a few feet above ours. I don’t take that as a literal measurement. To me, it describes how close Spirit can actually feel.

The separation seems enormous because we are trying to find them through the physical senses we have relied upon our entire lives. Where are you? Why can’t I see you? Why can’t I hear you? Why can’t I touch you? But what we are missing is their physical body. Their consciousness, their essence, their energy, is what I have spent decades connecting with. And from my experience, that does not feel like something living in a distant foreign place. It feels close. Sometimes incredibly close.

Are They Somewhere Far Away?
Missing Them Began With Loving Them

There is something else I want you to remember on the days when the missing feels especially heavy. You couldn’t miss them if you hadn’t loved them first. Grief didn’t create that love. Death didn’t create it. The love was already there. The missing came afterward.

So don’t think something is wrong with you on those days when you suddenly ache for them again. It doesn’t mean you’ve gone backward. It doesn’t mean you aren’t healing. It means somebody mattered. You loved. You still love.

And sometimes love hurts when the person we want to give it to is no longer standing in front of us.
Nothing spiritual I could ever tell you should minimize that. Sometimes you don’t want an explanation about the afterlife. You want your person back. I understand that. You can believe they are close and still desperately wish you could hear their voice one more time. You can feel connected to them and still cry because you want them sitting beside you. Those feelings do not contradict each other. They are part of loving someone who is no longer physically present.
A Different Way to Think About Missing Them

Maybe the next time you find yourself saying: “I miss you so much.” You can hold one other possibility in your heart:
Maybe they don’t miss you in quite the same way, because from where they are, they haven’t lost you.
We experience the absence. From everything Spirit has shown me, they experience the connection.
And perhaps that is one of the reasons they can be peaceful while we are still learning how to live with missing them.
The love is still there. The relationship has changed, but the love that created it has not.

Have you ever wondered whether the little moments that make you think of them could mean something more?
Most of the times, they are standing right beside you and you feel their familiar energy. Many departed souls have told me similar things such as, "when my loved one thinks of me, it is as if I am hearing my name being called and I try and answer the call.
Whether it be in a dream, or just even interfering with the electrical system in the house. What many people may not know is that Spirit is made out of pure electromagnetic energy, or consciousness. This energy very often can interfere with the electrical system in the home, causing blinking lights or power surges. So, before you go ahead and call an electrician, explore the possibility that your loved ones are simply answering the
call.
